The first season of the anime adaptation can be found on Netflix. Season 2 is confirmed and presumably currently in production.

DO NOT SPOIL THE ANIME WATCHERS

This is so that the anime watchers can sub to the community without worry of seeing posts that would spoil later parts of the story. This includes manga pages and panels, mentioning characters, fanart, etc.

Parent instance rules also apply, of course.

Right before Namari and the Tansu party appeared, I asked who of the main four character were peoples favorites. Izu wasn't yet in Laio's party, no-one knew about Marcy's less than legal hobbies, and Senshi seemed like a simple wise old man. And Falin, while not present, wasn't yet a chimeric murderbeast.

We are halfway in the story. Although they only appeared in a few scenes, the appearance of the elven special forces, the Canaries, means all major characters have been introduced.

So who's your favorite now?

PS: Is anyone interested in picking up the manga? I am thinking about replacing the weekly episode discussions with manga read/reread discussions. Starting from chapter 1, and running in-between seasons, past chapter 52 if the wait ends up that long.

Senshi is the best. His need to feed the younguns won me over, but the episode where he was an elf secured the top spot forever.

It's still Marcy. But then I've held the stance since the start and I've read the manga, so it was unlikely to change watching the anime.

I really loved the paintings added to Marcy's nightmare, they more explicitly spell out her implied past trauma of losing her human father to old age.

I really wanted to see more of Izu in this season, but as she isn't with the main gang from the start, there was never going to be that much of her int this first run.

Rest assured she's in it for the long haul. Next season we'll see plenty more of the best cat-girl in fiction.

I haven't watched and am manga only for now. Is there enough left for a whole season?

The first season ended just past the midway point in terms of numbers, on chapter 52/97. That would leave a second season with 1.9 chapters to adapt per episode, assuming it is again 24 episodes. This season started off adapting three chapters per episode, then dropped to two for most of it. That pace remained extremely consistent.

The manga chapters grow very narratively substantial in the last third of the series, so there are definitely chapters coming up that would fill a whole episode on their own. So in terms of content it would be fair to say we are at about half.

So yes, there's definitely content left for a bigger and even better second season.

I really love Laios. He's nice.

He is a sweet man. I like that he's competent without being OP.

I especially like that he effortlessly out-friendlies Kabru.

Previously, I chose Falin.

I'm choosing Laios now. He's just a great guy all around. He reminds me of Harry Potter: he's going to conquer the dungeon because he doesn't seek any riches and such from it.

Not interested in picking the manga up just yet, since we know for certain that the anime is getting a second season.

He is driven by one thing tho. Monsters. Which doesn't mean he doesn't care about people, and as we know it only makes him more interesting. But Kabru's concern that Laios, given control of the dungeon, might be a threat, isn't entirely out of left field.

Senshi commented that the dungeon responded to the greed in his party, but it's not just greed for material riches that count. He's already noted that the goals of the party are causing the dungeon to bare its fangs at them to an escalating extent.

~~Elven Senshi~~ Laios, he seems like a blank, self-insert main character and typical, flavourless human fighter at first. He might just be the most unhinged of the whole gang and I love that so much!

Yes! They lay eggs!
