So I work in the betting business, and this is about a sports bet. The customer asked to put a £$8000-1200 bet (Ball park so this doesn't come back to me) on a favorite sports team to win. The team drew meaning the bet is a loser. Now obviously we had taken ID and had the company approve the bet due to the amount being staked, making sure we have done all the relevant checks.
The customer comes back 3 times claiming that we should have done more checks and is obviously trying to get their money back. I explain that we had done the required checks to put on their bet.
After a 4th visit and explaining that if they want to take it further, they would have to go online or make a complaint to the gambling authorities, they left.
Fast forward to now and I have a woman storm in, pointing fingers and demanding to see my manager. I explain my manager is not in today and ask what the problem is. She says that her child placed a bet that we should not have taken. I ask her to clarify what she means as it could be anyone. She tells me that it means what she means so I told her that I need to know who she is referring to. She tells me their name and demands I have my manager call her. I refuse and say that her child has been told the next steps and how to submit their complaint online if they wish to do so. She cuts me off saying she's not interested so I snap back, not caring for her attitude and say she clearly is interested as she's come in, shouting and demanding answers. She calls me rude and shouts that she's going to take this further as she goes to leave. I tell her to go ahead as that's what we already told her child.
TLDR: Don't place a massive bet and beg your mom to come in screaming because it lost.
