The material, which included samples of Hendra virus, lyssavirus and hantavirus, appears to have gone missing after a freezer storing the samples broke down.

they chucked it without paperwork. It's all fucked outside of deep freeze, and three years later we would know if that shit had gotten loose.

(But seriously, it should be nothing to worry about. These viruses will degrade very quickly outside of the cold freezer environment they were stored in.)
