Even though I knew it was gonna be cool today, the recent run of warmer summer weather has left me feeling unacclimatised. Got my Ugg boots and hoodie on. Got some Christmas baking to do, making gingerbread and shortbread. Kitchen smells good.

omg, it's been a very strange year.

I have watched 6 hugh grant movies.

Not willingly, well it wasn't an alex delarge sitch, but I certainly didn't choose because he was in them, he just happened to be in them. I include wonka and paddington 2 in the list.

I'm still never going to watch any of those richard curtis movies, not ever. 🀒 The closest I got was watching that time movie, after it was over i just knew i hated it. Imagine my surprise when i saw it was a curtis movie, if I had known i would have saved myself the trauma.

I will be watching Heretic as soon as it starts streaming and that will fill my Hugh Grant quota for the next several years

I thought I’d seen it all…

VomitThe past few days have involved Melbcat being sick in all the worst places. But I just heard her gagging and saw she was doing it neatly straight into her litterbox.

What a good girl. Very considerate.

She’s had some antibiotic ear drops today that work for 2 weeks so if she has an ear infection from reacting to the augmentin hopefully she starts feeling better soon.

Feels like 10. This time last week it was pushing 40. Gotta love it.

I had my quarterly botox for migraines this morning, and that combined with this weather is making me so sleepy. I've got plenty to do but I just want to lie here on the couch and maybe have a little nap.

I have lost the ability to dress for weather under 25C. Do I need a light cardi or a ski jacket? A summer dress? Who knows?

I'm feel like that annoying Queenslander who can't work out Melbourne weather. Which I'm not. Just out of practice.

I have a question I feel like people will get mad at me for, but screw it, I'm going to ask anyway: why is that recipetineat website so popular? It seems like nearly everybody in the country goes feral for it, and I really don't understand the appeal. I do appreciate the jump to recipe button, but that's fairly common now adays, and I do also appreciate the extensive notes but some other recipe sites have those too (JustOneCookbook comes to mind).

Is it just the fact it's Australian?

She has a wide range of recipes and they're easy to follow. She also gives alternative ingredients.

I can't forgive her for her trifle recipe though. It's bullshit you have to make your own jelly from scratch. We all grew up on Aeroplane Jelly in trifle. Nothing wrong with it.

Her recipes are easy to follow and I haven't had one fail yet. The tips and suggest substitutes are always bang on. And there's a dog.
