Example. I saw that ghost in the shell was streaming on Peacock, which I already have but it’s not streaming in 3-D. I started watching it and I felt a little bit underwhelmed by everything so I actually went to the Apple TV app and rented it and oh my God it’s like a whole different experience. Everything just seems so much more lifelike and vivid in 3-D.
Just for the hell of it a couple times I stopped the movie and then resumed it 2 D and then tried it again in 3-D and man. If there is ever an opportunity to buy a movie in 3-D, I’m always going to do that from now on. So when people say that 3-D movies are a fad and a gimmick, I say they just haven’t experienced it the right way. There were touchscreen phones before iPhone as well, but they were never any fun to use and with some of them yet to use a stylus. But then the first iPhone came along and showed everyone how it’s done. I feel like the Apple Vision Pro is kind of in the same category of things. People are going to dismiss 3-D movies for a while until Apple makes a mass market device like this and people get to see how cool it is
I know people are clamoring for immersive content from Apple, but I really wish Apple would get more on board with more 3-D content as well. It would be really cool to watch the new season of severance in 3-D.
