These 2 screenshots are 1 minute apart, after leaving the tab open on the Steam web browser.

I was showing a friend that they started putting banner ads between comments now, and then more popped up. Reminds me of ROM sites in the early 2000s.

The only reason the Fextralife wiki exists is because they use it to inflate their twitch channel viewercounts and channel metrics for sponsors with the embedded stream on every page(Unless twitch finally fixed this loophole). The entire business model of Fextralife is literally farming ad revenue so this doesn't surprise me in the least.

Ublock origin is your friend....

I have fextralife black listed. I don't know what their game is but it feels fake. Long winded introductions with little substance and recently ai slop.

Those game wikis are basically the only ones I use an adblocker on. They're basically unusable on mobile.

If you haven't been using an adblocker since the early 2000's, but actually remember what it was like back then... Why?

Haha, I would never do that to myself. I just get a quick glimpse of the bare 'net when I try the web browser built into Steam. My DNS is mostly filtering telemetry right now, while I leave the bulk of the blocking to uBlock Origin.
