Interview 1 went well!!!!!!! Really well.

Person interviewing said I'll most likely be coming in to meet the CFO!

Next one at 1:30pm. Let's see how it all plays out.

Thankfully no lol

Internal IT with an org that has an existing relationship with an MSP.

Sounds pretty decent from the interview so far. Downside is office attendance for the first few months.

Salary makes it worthwhile.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago

Oh that'd be nice (the internal IT not the office attendance). Though office attendance to start hopefully shows that team and culture is important to them and they want you to really embed well. Fingers crossed 🀞🏻

I believe doing time somewhere in retail or hospitality should be a prerequisite to adulthood. People who are or have been retail workers make far more reasonable customers. Society would do better if customers knew and understood what it was like to deal with customers.

2nd interview was harder. I don't think I'll be progressing. But it was good practice.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago

That's a great way to look at it! Fingers crossed all the same, maybe they saw it differently!

It will help you prepare for the right role when it happens

The calico bosses the other cats around. She has to eat from the bowl they're eating from even if she has her own lol

So I ended up getting an offer from a multinational. I'm not getting too excited in case the police check fucks me up.

We'll wait and see what happens. In the least I have leverage with my current employer.

last night I

-Went to bed early

-Put clean sheets on the bed

-Took a melatonin

-Had a warm shower

-trashed the freshly made bed with the mrs

-drank a chamomile tea

-read for a bit

Still got woken up at 2 by the toddler who isnt well, and still took me a while to fall asleep in the first place, but I only woke up 2 times throughout the night and didnt stay awake for hours after each wake up, so I'd could that a win!

Wisdom teeth? Gone.

Face? Swelled up.

Fridge? Full of jelly and custard.

Hotel? Trivago.

The surgeon said my teeth were growing sideways, so I guess I did need them out after all.

Getting out my wisdom teeth today. Should be a fun time πŸ•Ί

I’m still trying to tee up a dental specialist… We are both being extorted by the tooth fairy. What happened to the days when losing a tooth gave you money?

Losing a tooth gives you money. Knowing exactly where the tooth is and wanting it to be forcibly evicted is the expensive bit.

Maybe if I taunt someone they might knock it out for free

Snap lock bags of frozen peas work as well. Nice and small and flexible.

Walking Miniest to school and she noticed a Tesla and said "there's a carzi" (rhymes with nazi). I usually call them swasticars. I asked her if she thought of that one herself, and she said she was trying to think of the word I always said but couldn't think of it so she said that one instead πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

FML. Started getting sick before my exam, then during my exam I ran out of time.

If I scrape through…

Ugh.

Tempted to try the goon bag trick in the next few days. Basically just fill it with water, freeze it and hug it all day.

Partner tells me there's a pair of twenty-something (potentially teenage) boys knocking on people's doors and loudly talking in the Northcote area.

If they are casing houses (ours is a block of flats and we almost never get doorknockers), and she didn't open the door for them, do we have anything to worry about?

Appliances Online have run out of cheap(ish) portable air cons. Most economical available now is over $800 ... screams in capitalism

Date night last night and we went to Melbourne Cable Park to play mini golf and man, that place really impressed me. It was just so super laid back and cool, watching the wake boarders and the people doing the high ropes course was really cool and inspiring. Boyfy and I spent about an hour just wandering around the lakes and checking things out. I drive past it every day, but had never been in there, the inflatables course looks soooo fun.

car stuffApparently Subaru are having a big sale on last years WRXs in the states. Not a huge surprise, the VB series has never sold in great numbers. But this is like 0% interest over 48 months or something and prices around 40k. So Im interested and have a google and see what Subaru Australia are doing: 52k. A discount of approx 2k? so stuff all basically. Looked up a personal loan anyway. taking into my near 20% saved it'd still cost me 25k in interest alone over 7 years. yeahhhhhh. Keen but not THAT keen. Not unless I have no choice.

meanwhile im bitching that my white car is already dirty despite being washed recently. imagine how bad its gonna be in world rally blue colour?!

The weather is just perfect tonight, nice cool breeze. Perfect beer-after-work weather. I will miss this over the next however many days of heat hell.

I’m supposed to be going to a picnic on Sunday 🫠

Starting to dismantle my shelving system. Recovered from cat pilfering so far: 2 ping pong eye balls, three plastic dinosaurs, a matchbox car, 2 pens, and 4 lip balm tube lids.
