Sources in Belarus said that some Wagner base camps were being dismantled the evening of Aug. 23, and that members of the private military group were forming convoys to leave the country.

"The convoys are likely heading towards the border with Russia," the Center said.

According to the Center's sources in Belarus, the Belarusian government did not authorize the mercenary group's withdrawal. Belarusian special services are reportedly trying to intercept the convoys at the border.

Assuming Prig is actually dead, and maybe more importantly, the guy actually in charge of Wagner is dead, these guys will probably just go home and integrate with the Russian military.

And change to a shit pay? Didn't some general make his own PMC to compete with Wagner? Maybe now the competition is dead they'll hire these ronin.

Gazprom formed their own group of mercs relatively recently, so that might be what you are thinking of.

While Wagner was the largest and most well known PMC, there have always been several others that don't get much press: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_private_military_contractors#Russian_companies

I've been wondering whether Wagnerites would try avenging the deaths somehow. Interesting to see where this'll go

If they aren't getting paid, that would probably kill off any hopes of revenge fairly quick. Wagner's attempted coup only got as far as it did because of Prigozhin being respected by the troops. Now that Prigozhin and the actual Wagner leader are out of the picture, there probably isn't a replacement that can fill that void fast enough.

It's probably more likely that all of the stray mercs will end up joining other PMCs.

I would have expected they'd be a bit antsy about going back to Russia, knowing what generally happens to people who cross Putin

Indeed, they are full of revenge, as their Telegram channels show. Since they lack any big arms, they will probably engage in traditional Russian terrorism, and try to kill Pootin - as their predecessors assassinated Russian emperors. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrorism_in_Russia

What a clusterfuck

They lack of shiny tools, funding and support… so what do we have to expect? I fear: nothing big.

They might be eradicated or integrated before my pop corn is finished.
