I'm looking for a recommendation on a high quality 2 or 3 meter USB-C /Thunderbolt cable used for data transfer and charging.

After yet another replacement Anker cable usb-c cable I’d really like to get cables that can last a few hundred cycles and I need a recommendation.

Are there any companies that make higher durability cables?

--Edit-- So far recommendations I have gotten are

  • Samsung
  • LCom
  • cable matters
  • Braided jackets
  • Power delivery of 25w or greater
  • Use magnetic disconnects

Depends on your use case, the USB-C spec is .... very large, and ever changing.

If you just need Power cables, that makes it easier

This. And if you need a full-spec cable, you're going to have to sift through tons of charging cables.

Allowing non-full spec cables was a mistake.

useful looking data. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with different brands, but make sure you get braided cables at least. I've had a couple of those last me years.

I've used LCom in the past when I need something in a harness, that I didn't want to ever have to replace. They have a 3m 20gbps 100w cable for about $20. I've never used their USB c cables though.

If you want 40gbps or 240w, you're limited to 1m though.

Just the fact they have their own site gives me bias towards that.

Is this the one It looks like it? https://www.l-com.com/Images/Downloadables/2D/CAU4CC-20M-3M_2D.pdf

Do you buy through their site?

They've got a list of authorized distributors (about-->authorized distributors) depending on your region.

You may also look into Link cables that are sold for VR headsets like Quest/Oculus. I had one at office for a VR project and while I did not use it for charging phones specifically, the build quality is great and takes physical abuses quite well, besides being not all that expensive.

cable matters is good cable and certified brand

I found it painful keeping track of what cable could do what and some screens/drives were picky.

I have nothing to do with it this but bought one. (I also have a cheap one that’s more generic but doesn’t give anywhere near the same amount of information on cable health.)

I'm in that boat. I don't want to pull a cable from somewhere and find stuff working weird. I'd bought full rated a thunderbolt 4 cable. That was going to get too expensive for smaller stuff and handing to my kids.
