Man, 4 years of blaming Democrats for the shit republicans are doing is going to be great. Especially when you get told that both sides are the same any time a mouth breather responds, despite all available evidence, when you point out just how different they are.

It's kind of cold comfort to tell the other person "I told you so" while you're both standing in a smoldering crater.
Once the election was called I told everyone I'd been warning that for the next 4 years I'm not going to be saying "I told you so" lest my lungs give out but I want them to remember and imagine me saying it because I'm thinking it. Nothing else for me to do at this point.
Is this like a famous Maga user on Reddit? Because I see no hint of trump love in this post
It sounds like they've been waiting 5 months, so blaming Trump doesn't really make sense, except for the most recent issues they are experiencing.
That's not exactly MAGA-alignment though, isn't it? It's saying that the person wouldn't be in this position if Biden had resolved whatever issue they had 5 months ago at what I assume is the time of the disaster.
Not that I don't enjoy seeing someone having their face eaten by a leopard, but I do generally want to be sure the person getting their face eaten actually cast their vote for said leopard. This was not compelling evidence in my book.
the post has another screenshot attached of the user somewhat defending this
I only see the one post. But I see the other guy who linked it. I have to stop using sync it sucks
Looks fine to me on sync
Hmm, worked fine for me on sync.
I use Boost and I like it. But I've also heard good things about Voyager
+1. I've been using Voyager since it was called wefwef. It was the closest thing to Apollo I could find at the time and it has worked great for me for ~~2~~ 1.5 years now. The team has done a ton of improvements over the last ~~2~~ 1.5 years as well so it's had great support.
To be fair I haven't looked at any other apps for Lemmy since I stumbled on this one in the early days after the first reddit migration due to the API fiasco, but that's because this one suits me just fine.
edit: Guess it hasn't quite been 2 years yet.
I was a RIF user on the old site, and Voyager was close enough I just went with it. Some very minor bugs annoy me, but it's pretty solid!
I used RIF too, take a look at Thunder
+1 for thunder. Been using it since I first joined Lemmy and it's been really good. The interface is similar to that of Joey as well, which was my go to Reddit app before they killed third party apps.
For me it was because I loved Boost for Reddit and when spez did that thing back then the dev pivoted his app and it retained all functionality so it was pretty much seamless for me. I bought the app (twice) for the ad-free experience and I launch the rocket (for a small fee) every now and then.
Boost is great. So glad he made a Lemmy version.
As a former Sync user, I can wholeheartedly recommend Thunder.
Am I missing a setting for "hide read posts"? That's the one thing that ruins using thunder
One more thing I just noticed: when you long-press the floating action button in the feed, there's a "Dismiss Read" option which seems to remove all read posts from the feed. Although you have to trigger it manually, it might be good enough?
Edit: And I can do you one better, I think: Go to Settings, Account and disable the "Show Read Posts" option. Because as it turns out, this functionality is built into Lemmy.
Sweet, yeah that'll do, thanks
Interesting, that indeed doesn't seem to exist. Best workaround I can suggest would be to enable gestures and then assign the hide action to one of the gestures.
IIRC this is something that’s been getting rolled out poorly for quite a while now. They want to create a central login/authentication system (login.gov) for government websites, a generally solid idea, but the transition has been a bit of a mess everywhere it goes.
Hahahahahhahaa
