Every Carnist who defends eating meat sound like psychopaths.

I just find it hypocritical when people are outraged at dog farms in Asian countries, while eating a burger or ham sandwich. Some how them having a dog as a pet changes the animals status on the food chain...but also I know a guy that had a potbelly pig as a pet still eats ham? It's seems like people jump through mental hoops to justify their food choices.

Carnism is a psychological defense mechanism to other's pain. Having empathy hurts. It especially hurts when you live in the middle of this ongoing holocaust. But what if you could just... not care? It turns out, a human can maim their own capacity for empathy to the point where they don't even notice being surrounded by actual atrocity.
