If combining two things from a fridge could be called a new recipe. It tastes good, I promise.

Okay, I finally got around to trying this.

I was gonna do a post on it, but keep running into timing issues to take pics to make it interesting.

It was... not good lol.

I love bananas. I love marmite (seriously, no joke).

The two together makes the bad parts of marmite come out in force, and overwhelm the banana.

You know how marmite on bread turns from a salty slap on the tongue into a rich umami bomb?

This is the opposite. All you get it a burst of salt, followed by a wave of sweet, and then it turns into a muddy and mildly unpleasant mess.

It isn't the worst thing I've ever tried by a long measure, but it isn't good, and the aftertaste is a disappointment that keeps on giving, and I ate it almost ten minutes ago.

I'm kind of annoyed. I wanted this to be amazing, because I've had marmite with other fruit and it was interesting, though not amazing. It works fine with most jams, and we all know how great it is with butter on bread.

This just doesn't work :(

Food + marmite = not food, for most people.

Butnprops for the vintage Corelleware plate.

It can be a great tool in cooking, but I never want to be able to taste it.

"You know what this dish is missing? The taste of expired beer that was collected, dripping from a dumpster behind a seafood restaurant."

Ngl, marmite + banana seems dubious. I'm typing this, then I'm going to go try a bite of banana with dot of marmite to see.

Will edit in my impression.

Edit: no bananas, my kid is a monkey, will check in later

This might sound better if I was stoned.
