Ah yes, kernel-based anti-cheat and "proactive" voice chat moderation (spoiler alert: it's still reactive)

Also the ability to pay $7.99 for "free" in-game money. The irony.

Doesn't sound like a fun update to me.

That's kinda the state of the game at this point: not fun. And why I'm not fussed about the PC release likely going to be long after the console version at least. R* just isn't a priority for me anymore.

Apparently is recommend, not required but recommended, to have an RTX 3080 to run the upgraded graphics, I assume at least on high.

I wonder if GTA VI will need a 5090.

You could have a video card the size of a nuclear power plant, and it's still going to struggle with this unoptimized POS. Rockstar sucks at optimizing their games for PC, and it's kind of inexcusable at this point (most of their games are a decade+ old at this point). RDR2 was the only large exception, but it still struggles here and there. They especially seem to struggle with grass textures. Case in point, watch GTA 5, it's fine in the city. You'll be chugging along, 180FPS or whatever, but the minute you leave the city your frames drop to like <30 FPS in spots, unless you really turn the detail down.

Source? The link in the OP says a ~3060 or 6600XT for recommended settings. No clue what the 'recommended' settings are, though.

So it is a 3060, I saw 3080 somewhere, unless I misread it. For recommended, they also don't specify resolution. I'm assuming it's to play on at least a high preset.
