Resist: It's Time

We are still in this together, but "this" is going to be real different in the very near future. This demands a different kind of "we."

The French Resistance during Nazi occupation played important roles delivering downed Allied airmen back to safety, supplying military intelligence, and acts of sabotage.

The Underground Railroad is estimated to have brought 100,000 freedom seekers to safety between 1810 and 1850.

It's time.

Private security dragged out a woman who had been interrupting a Kootenai County Republican Central Committee legislative town hall in Idaho Saturday as Sheriff Robert Norris stood by, spurring a disagreement between the sheriff and Coeur d’Alene’s police chief over the First Amendment implications of the incident.

Nazi lawmakers hire local Nazi sheriff and plainclothes private nazi security, then violently assault a woman for daring to say that timber was stolen from public land during a public town hall.

Christ.

At minimum there’s at least some pushback from the police chief, so hopefully these Nazi fucks have some fear put into them for now.

Private security didn’t identify themselves to Borrenpohl after she asked multiple times and then refused to comply with their repeated directives to leave.

So this took place in a public high school. This woman was threatened, detained and assaulted by private security personnel who didn't identify themselves, didn't say she was trespassing -- which they don't seem to have the authority to do anyway -- , and the sheriff just watched and let it happen.

This seems like a pretty clear first-amendment violation, as well as a criminal assault charge by the security personnel. I hope she sues everyone involved for all they're worth.

From my reading, it seems that the local police department may amazingly be on the right side of this incident, in opposition to the sheriff's department.

Kootenai County GOP officials said Saturday that they didn’t know which company provided security for their event and told the Press to seek that information from the sheriff.

“Bob (Sherriff Norris) was right there,” KCRCC chair Brent Regan said. “Nothing was done without him being aware.”

Norris denied knowledge of the event’s security arrangements and said he didn’t know the security personnel.

What the fuuuuuck

"... your voice is meaningless right now."

That about sums it up.
