I love to see the progress the Gnome team is making.

I try to shut up about it, but I feel that Linux has the superior desktop experience now across pretty much every aspect (both on Gnome and KDE, honestly).

Great, I much prefer this. I always know where windows are going to open.

The current standard behaviour is somewhat unpredictable to me, and I'm not a fan.

I am unsure about this. In the end its a matter of habit. Would be nice if GNOME would add a good automatic tiling option as well.

This is part of that endeavor. Rather than doing their tiling stuff at app launch time, they want to handle the tiling more dynamically.

I prefer centered because it’s more consistent. Before the window even appears, I center my mouse so that I can move it where I want it.
