Pills scattered on a countertop where Arakawa was found. Hackman found in the mudroom, possibly having fallen. One dog was dead, two others were alive.

Speculation:

Hackman falls, dies. Arakawa panics (I don't blame her), the stress causes some kind of cardiac failure. She goes for aspirin or something, fumbles it (or whatever pill bottle she pulled out), dies. One dog eats some of the fallen pills, also dies.

Idk, gas leak seems more plausible (even if it dissipated before tests happened). Maybe the wire felt lightheaded, went for pills, but didn’t have time.

Reporting says no signs of gas leak or carbon monoxide.

Doubt that if some dogs lived.

The dead dog was in the bathroom closet. Very weird.

[–] [email protected] 45 points 1 day ago

That kind of supports my speculation. Dog loves her, she's scrambling, dog comes. Ends up eating something it shouldn't have, feels ill, curls up in the closet. Dogs feel safer in enclosed spaces, "dens."

I'm a little confused by that, first the article says in the closet, then it says it was found in a kennel?

I've read a couple of articles and they both said the dog was found in the closet.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

Definitely plausible!

Royal Tenenbaum died tragically rescuing his family from the wreckage of a sinking battleship.

Gene Hackman is the GOAT! Even in death he leaves us some drama.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Well that's certainly an interesting occurrence. Wonder what actually happened. Maybe we'll hear more after they have time to investigate.

Also RIP Gene Hackman. Didn't realize he was 95.

He was a fantastic actor, he could be impossible to read until he spoke if he wanted.

So many great roles, loved him as the paranoid ex-spook in Enemy of the State. And he was the best Lex Luther when I saw Superman in theaters as a Kid. My dad and I watched Bat*21 when I was a teenager, it's based on a real story, blew my mind, but he'll always be the Blindman that met Young Frankenstein to me.

I forgot about Young Frankenstein! He was so good at everything he did.

A room in most American homes which contains about 12" of dense clay and water, mixed to the consistency of a heavy paste. When you enter the house you remove all your clothes except for your shoes and slather the mud on yourself, whilst singing classic American show tunes at the top of your lungs to announce your presence. The host will unlock the door, spray you down with a fire hose and greet you with a hearty slap on your bare ass and a cigar.

It's just an American thing, you dirty foreigners wouldn't understand.

Depends on how fancy your house is, but basically it's a very small room connected to a second entrance of your house to take off dirty shoes and wet coats before going into the clean area of the house. For most people it's a combo laundry room connected to their garage.

A room at the entryway to the house, commonly used to take off rain boots, wet clothing.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

A foyer for the back door.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Or the front door if you aren’t fancy

NO WE ONLY ACCEPT BACK DOOR IN THIS HOUSEHOLD YOUNG LADY

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago

Can we leave religion out of this please?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago

A second entrance if you're extra fancy.

I hope this wasn’t one of those burglaries where they knock the owners out with gas. That happened to Jenson Button and his wife. But they didn’t die.
