I get what you're saying, survival matters more than anything to Ukraine. But he represents Ukraine on the world stage and that means what he says and does matters. If he does what you suggested, then he likes corrupt, which is already a perception that he is fighting.
He might also have seen that he had a chance to call out the bullshit that was being spread in the meeting as Macron and Starmer did
Zelensky is surprisingly snappy. After getting used to the average politician he really surprised me. But yeah this response to the "two weeks" was gold.
I don't even know why this shit is televised. I note the meeting with Putin wasn't.

Trump thinks his entire life is a TV show.
I think Zelensky was being quite mild only because he is in a very difficult position and he actually cares more about his country than himself unlike this orangegutan. So he kind of allowed Trump to get away with his dihheriacious comments. Had he been free of this restraint he would have easily buried him to the ground.
Zelenskyy is a fucking gigachad for saying that in the Oval Office. Fucking legend

While talking to zelensky, trump said something like the war in Ukraine could have ended in three days, and zelensky said 'am I crazy or are you quoting Putin right now?'
I'm unwilling to listen to that embarrassing shit show again so that's as accurate as I can get.
That video reduced my lifespan by at least a couple years. In his previous term he was a narcissistic asshole. Could barely put up with him back then. Right now, he is something else entirely. It is like he is actually a pokemon and he evolved into his final form after getting reelected.
Lol yeah. I watched that video two times because i showed it to someone but im never watching that shit again. One they are disgusting, two the amount of second hand embarrasment you get is way above my limit.

Trump repeating a Russian talking points to Zelensky while obliterating the relationship.
Also Trump was wrong as usual. US support for Ukraine was pretty minimal at the start of the war. Nobody expected them to last long, why supply them with heavy weaponry if it would fall into Russia's hands in a few weeks? Lesson learned from US support of Afghanistan in the 80's and why the Afghanistan army didn't receive them in the 2000s. Only after Ukraine proved themselves did the West ramp up support.
Well the US did send Javelin missiles to Ukraine before the start of the war... but only after Trump tried to hold them back in an extortion scheme on Zelenskyy to get him to smear Biden. That resulted in the first impeachment of Trump and since he's a small and petty worm, he obviously holds a grudge.
And then he had the gall to tell Zelensky to his face 'I'm the one that gave you javelins!', even though they were both on that perfect phone call where he tried to extort him.
This is just leaking into my bubble and I don't know how much of it I can take but as for this part - I'm here for it.
