Russian leaders cheered after President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance dealt Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a brutal smackdown in the Oval Office Friday, reveling in the public breakdown of relations between the U.S. and Ukraine.

Trump turned on the wartime president during a meeting that he had previously touted as a historic moment in which Zelenskyy would sign a framework to a deal that would let the U.S. share revenue from Ukraine’s rare earth minerals.

Dmitry Medvedev — the former Russian prime minister and president and deputy chair of Russia’s Security Council — was quick to dance on the grave of the U.S.-Ukraine partnership.

“The insolent pig finally got a proper slap down in the Oval Office,” Medvedev wrote on X. “And @realDonaldTrump is right: The Kiev regime is ‘gambling with WWIII.’”

They let the Russian state media in there, but no AP or Reuters

That’s all you need to know

Always funny when a savage boar tries calling an inspirational figure a pig.

Who the fuck writes this propaganda? There was no smackdown. There was a lot of whining and shouting by Trump and his sycophant Vance. This reads like it was written by Putin himself and handed to Politico.

It's a quote from Medvedev, so yeah it almost is.

[–] OutlierBlue 21 points 13 hours ago

That's not a quote. There are no quotation marks around it, and it doesn't attribute the statement to anyone.

Further down the article it does quote Medvedev

“The insolent pig finally got a proper slap down in the Oval Office,” Medvedev wrote on X.

That's a quote, and it's worded differently than their statement in their opening paragraph.

Upvoting this as "thanks for sharing." I know that's the way, but this one was tough.

Thanks! Yeah, people are downvoting because the Russians are scumfucks. But being able to say "look how ecstatic the Russians are" is more powerful than saying "I bet the Russians are ecstatic." It's important to know even if it's a massive contribution to my current rage spiral.

My involuntary eye twitch from the First Trump Years is returning.

I was asked by a dentist in 2019 if I ground my teeth a lot. I said yes, and he said he could tell.

No shit! I started sleeping with a mouth guard in 2017.

There certainly is an insolent pig deserving of a proper slap down in the oval office.

Two insolent pigs in human drag suits

Insolent pigs is how the US now sees the rest of the world as well. Except Russia and China.

Every single leader and citizen is an insolent pig to Americans and Russians. We are pawns and commodities in their race to the bottom of humanity and to prevent progress.

They are cultural bullies told from birth they are special because of their collective strength.

Greece is striking and protesting in the hundreds of thousands over the rail incident.

France rioted over retirement age.

The French Revolution happened in a society of poverty and oppression.

But every day we hear how it's not possible, we are all trapped in our jobs.

No, you don’t care enough because you are a bully culture. And a lot of you see benefit in the results of this upcoming war killing billions while you drill baby drill.

You are allowing everything taught to you as example from history. From Jesus to Galileo to Hitler. So what is it? Malice or stupidity? Hint: it’s both on a national scale. This is what you did with the freedom you jerked over the world, and the role of protector you took and now ask payment for.

Your president is a traitor to your country. Your country is a traitor to humanity.

Nobody intelligent sees anything but WWIII being Americas fault. Allowed by the greedy and stupid to be perpetrated by their gods - old white men and billionaires who all plan to leave us to die.

I hope every American feels the humiliation of having these bumbling alpha wannabes representing their country.

They consider deumpf crying about his personal grievances and crying in Putin's behalf a smackdown? Pretty fucking weak show of power LMAO

[–] floofloof 12 points 14 hours ago

He whines just like a Russian politician.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 13 hours ago

"Finally"

Because after 3 years of full-on war, they haven't been able to themselves.

Weak even when trying to sound tough.

I upvote for keeping us informed.

If we upvote only content we like, we end up in a bubble.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 15 hours ago

We are so fucked.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 15 hours ago

The endless praise of Trump from Russia will never convince Republican voters, who are still certain that Trump is the only one who will be 'tough' on Russia.

Fuckwits.

Trump's diplomacy: ultimatums, insults, and chaos—what could possibly go wrong?
