I mean, Trump is also supporting a genocide in Palestine... So...

Honestly I dont care if they divine it through the splash their shit made against the bowl this morning as long as they come to the conclusion.

You get partial credit for the right answer, even if you got there by accident.

brb I need to go file a trademark request under the names "Shit Psychic" and "Poo Prophet"

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

I'm not sure you've really thought through what that economic endeavor would entail.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 54 minutes ago

Honestly, with a name like that he'll probably get hired by DOGE

So, Trump siding with Putin over the USA's own intelligence agencies wasn't a big enough red flag for these people?

[–] [email protected] 71 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

Nothing is a big enough red flag, but the last thing we want to do is ridicule them when they are starting to see the truth of the matter.

Can't melt those snowflakes.

We need to grow our ranks right now, new allies should be welcomed and embraced. Escaping a cult isn't easy

(Also, this example might not be the best, isn't the account a satirical one?)

No, unfortunately he's serious

No redemption for these fucksticks. Brand them as traitors for life.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 hour ago

The time for that was the civil war. What's happening now is the price you pay for not doing that.

In all seriousness, we’ve got to make room for folks to return to sanity. When they have these “ah ha” moments we should take those opportunities to walk them back to reality.

All the “leopards/faces” jokes, while cathartic, aren’t really helping and encourage people to turn their backs on sanity for comfort.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 4 hours ago (3 children)

Is there actual concrete evidence of any MAGAs "returning to sanity" over this stuff? As much as I'd love to be wrong, I'm skeptical that anyone still in the MAGA camp after the past 10 years could see this administration do any kind of heinous shit and not immediately dismiss it as false or rationalize it in a way that conforms to the party narrative. I think they've all been irreversibly brainwashed by Fox News and weaponized social media.

I’ll always leave room for them, but I would still bet they will be fed their next set of talking points within the next 24 hours and be right back on board the crazy train.

I have pretty heavy judgement for people who have made it well into adulthood without bothering to engage with the reality of what they support.

However, always leave room for people who were raised in this crap. It takes serious time to deprogram and some people will do it at 16 and others might take until 26. I'm 31 and still deconstructing some of the repressive religious bullshit from my childhood even though I swing hard left politically (well past the Democratic Party) at 18. The brain doesn't stop developing until 25, so at least give them some leeway until then to figure out what they really believe.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 4 hours ago

Is there any evidence mocking them and alienating them from our views helps? People leave cults after being in them for years, so it’s not like profound change cannot occur at any time.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

Plenty of regular people are rightfully very distrustful of certain 3 letter agencies because of the histories of those agencies. That alone is far from a red flag. Combined with his positions on things like the BLM protests though...

Known as Mike from PA, Mike is a progressive Political Activist from Pennsylvania and is known as the Steelman of the left, Mike advocates for union labor and social democracy.

So… False flag Tweet?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Progressives aren't libs, so nothing false flag about a progressive saying "the libs might have been right".

The assumption that anyone who calls liberals "libs" is also pro-Trump is incorrect.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 hours ago

exactly lol it’s worse than a false flag he actually believes what he’s saying as a progressive

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

no he’s approaching this from an absurd leftist position, i actually thought more people would know who this guy was so sorry for the confusion

mike from PA is what a lot of people categorize as a tankie and was one of the people who was VERY vocal about not voting for harris under the pretext that trump might be better. so he does a lot of rhetoric that’s basically semi-MAGA advocacy

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I'm not American so I don't care either way. But it was my understanding that he voted against supporting the genocide of Palestinians. Kamala was still going to support the genocide.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 17 minutes ago

This is correct.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 hour ago

Missing from that summary is the fact that he's a confirmed moron.
