I’ve been following DahliaOS for a while, it’s a zircon kernel and linux distribution. The cool part is the zircon part because it’s a new open source microkernel made for fuschiaOS from google that’s been built from the ground up. It’s cool to see their desktop environment be used outside of their distribution. The desktop environment itself is built off of flutter.

The good part of Android is it's use of Linux kernel. Pulling a new kernel made by Google and making a new FLOSS shell upon it makes me wonder what is the point if that? We need a GNU/Linux Distro for our phones which has nothing to the with Google, not some hybrid which in part depends on Google again.

I think it's cool in it's own way. I wouldn't use it if I was trying to completely escape google but as it's own project it's cool to watch. I think the main advantage (and disadvantage) is that it's being made from scratch now, meaning it's not tied to legacy features like most operating systems are. And while that's not entirely unique (things like redoxOS exist) Fuschia having the backing of one of the biggest tech companies on the face of the planet means that it has a chance of major adoption, making it somewhat significant, as well as potentially making people Also since it's open source it will probably be forked and degoogled like ungoogled chromium.
