As a vegan:
Fuck you, you disgusting capitalist sell-out fucks.
As another vegan: I worked for them when they were still called Globally Local. They are actually scumbags, who treat their employees like garbage.
These folks really don’t seem to have thought about this. Do they think US vegans aren’t interested in a company’s business practices? Or do they think the MAGA crowd is hankering for Canadian beancurd?
I know that absolutely nobody in my stateside vegan/veggie household will be interested in whatever bean joint this is. And I guarantee the relatives I’ve lost to the Dark Side won’t be showing up any time soon.
There's also the question of Canadian vegans. How many are going to be put off by the fact that this company expanded its ties with the USA at this particular moment?
It's a tricky thing though. It's not uncommon for Canadian companies to have some operations in the USA, and I'm not sure we can really expect them all to just stop. So is it worse to be starting up operations there now, rather than continuing operations you already have? Is it worse because it's a vegan food company?
