I think one reason I enjoy roguelites is because many have this mechanic (the first).

@[email protected] I agree. I casually enjoy roguelites as well but they're usually very difficult and I get frustrated easily
It depends on the roguelite. But part of the fun to me is figuring out broken builds that just wreck everything.
We would reset the save just to go around and unlock everything once again. Nowadays that's just called filing for bankruptcy.
