The missing context is that this is directed at ISIS, not the general public

It’s still a tweet that should not be posted by any account of such importance, but they’re not quite just saying outright to the populace in general “we’re gonna kill you”

Good thing we all trust the federal government to give due process to people they will accuse of being ISIS agents working domestically in the US.

[–] phoenixz 21 points 2 weeks ago

True, but FFS, really? Does that even need explaining?

These people are so dumb, so dumb. And petty. It's like watching 15yo bullies living out their revenge fantasies

They’re disappearing people on the street in and they’re posting no context tweets saying “WE WILL FIND YOU-AND WE WILL KILL YOU”. I’d hold off on sounding so sure about what they mean for now.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

Oh c'mon, a little sanewashing never caused any damage.

I mean it's not exactly no context, it was in direct reply to another tweet that was simply cut out of the screenshot

It's still incredibly unbecoming of an official government communication. I'm just saying we don't need to overstate how bad it is, it's plenty bad enough already

who the fuck are they talking about?

[–] SpaceCowboy 47 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I think they're referencing Liam Neeson in the movie Taken in a lame attempt to sound like they're badasses.

Or are you asking who they're threatening? You weren't invited to the "Houthi PC Small Group" chat on Signal along with everyone else?

What they’re actually doing is sounding like edgey teenagers.

I don't have signal I didn't get the invite

Is there a not joke answer or does the white house want us all to feel mildly concerned and/or afraid right now?

We need to remember this when the revolution comes, and people are hesitant to start shooting. THIS is how they see us. We need to see them the exact same way.

I'm finally black pilled on Republicans. I thought for years that they were just uneducated morons that could be redeemed. I then realized with the second administration that no, they're just intellectually inconsistent and will do mental gymnastics ensuring they are never wrong nor accountable.

I feel like an extremist because I don't see a solution that isn't forced education or prison. Ignoring them doesn't work, making fun of them doesn't work, they've overcome societal safeguards and are immune to feelings of regret.

Dissolution back into independent states, with an underground railroad to get sane people out of the red states.

Yeah I know it sucks. This whole thing sucks. I wish we hadn't lost the war over information, but now this is where we're at. If we're worried about external threats, we could accept Denmark's offer.

You may be underestimating the number of conservatives in blue states.

The Nazi party was more of a sophisticated evil than these idiot MAGAts. I can't wait to see the Nuremberg style trials for these scum.

I'll take "What is terrorism?" for 500$, Alex.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Domestic terrorism.
Overseas terrorism has been integrated into the culture now.

Meanwhile, we're not even allowed to say on Lemmy, and definitely not on Reddit or X, anything about enforcing the legal punishment for treason.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I think that's specific to .world.

Yep, that's why I changed my instance. Bootlickers

This should be the top new story for every news media outlet. They should be covering this Tweet in deep detail. What does it mean? Why did they send it? Who suggested it? Who wrote it? Who approved it? Who are they addressing it to? Is it approriate for the White House to be threatening to kill anyone?

If HitlerPig doesn't declare Martial Law and suspend elections, then this Tweet should be the centerpiece of EVERY election campaign.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

Yes. What the fuck?!? This is reminiscent of an abusive relationship when she tries to leave.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Say what you want about the Nazis, at least they had style.

And I'm saying that, with the meaning that Nazis are scumbag monsters that should all have been lynched slowly after WWII.

This, somehow feels like they want to be worse but they're too incompetent to be worse

[–] [email protected] 27 points 1 week ago

Everyone has heard the hypothetical "if I could timetravel I'd kill Hitler", right? Well, now's the opportunity to depose of multiple aspiring Hitlers. Luigi Mangione laid the groundworks. They might not be building concentration camps, yet, but their greed is causing suffering of and/or killing just as many if not more.

Any context whatsoever on who "you" might be?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago

The poor of America.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

Isis terrorists in Somalia apparently. According to the source posted in this thread. Still a fucked thing to say.

Thank god, I was afraid Israel was getting away with genocide. But I do hope they bring them to court instead of killing them. You have to give a good example you know.
