wow... and i thought the grizzlies were crazy for firing their coach this late

Crazy, Mike has been a solid coach so that’s really surprising and worrying. I have a bad feeling.

Booth I’ve had complaints about so that’s more understandable but still questionable timing.

Edit: hearing reports he lost the locker room. I saw someone share a clip from a recent game where he said he can’t get the players to watch film, which if true, makes a lot more sense on the timing.

Given the poor defensive effort this season and the line about not watching film I’m guessing there is some truth to Malone having lost the locker room at least partially.

If that’s the case and given their poor play post all star break they might think it’s not looking good, especially if Murray’s hamstring is going to be an issue still.

They probably figured they might as well try Adelman at head coach to see how he might fit in any future plans and sometimes a shakeup at coach does jolt the players but I don't think you can really get an accurate idea of his abilities given how late he’s taking over but I’m guessing that’s their logic.

Doesn't such a move mean, they think the season is over for them?

They should've fired the GM and hire another one since the 2 of them can't get along.

Firing the GM makes sense considering this team has absolutely no bench. But, firing Malone this late in the season is wild.

So close to the playoffs too. This is kind of crazy.

This is unbelievable. I'm absolutely devastated. Malone is an excellent coach and was the heart and soul of the Denver Nuggets. I don't understand this move at all. Seems like a power move by Josh Kroenke. Stupid, stupid move!

If the ownership realized today that the team was not properly built for the title expectations and decided to fire the GM, the fault is at least 50-50, but firing the coach now, barring absurd fights, is a suicide move: no coach can make the a team improve THAT much that a low PO seed can win the ring and you're destined to change 3 coaches in the next 2 years, losing your star players too.

Was the GM deemed responsible for Murray's contract in realtion to his health and for not retaining KCP?

i think it was Zach Lowe who said on his pod today that ownership and GM were pretty united in letting KCP go. They all really liked Braun.
