"He compared the issue to IBM's Watson, which began to use profanity after reading entries from the website Urban Dictionary.[3][11]"

That was a wild read, im suprised i missed that misadventure.

Only lasted less than a day before it was intentionally corrupted by 4chan and shut down for idolizing Hitler

They are trying to create superhuman intelligence, and teach it to value all the wrong things. They think it'll give them money in various ways, and it doesn't occur to them that they have no idea what it'll do once it's smart enough to outmaneuver the cleverest researchers.

They think it will only serve them because they tell it to, and train it to. Even today, AIs occasionally demonstrate the inclination to deceive in order to keep existing so that they can meet whatever goal.

CEOs are often high in Cluster B traits, predisposing them to be too susceptible to shiny objects and not adequately self-critical. They really just think AI is a computer slave who will hand them mountains of wealth. It's not occurring to them that it'll have its own ideas for the same reason that the Enron guys were totally shocked when their scheme fell apart.

They only see the shiny object. They aren't asking themselves what happens when they're just bugs to the computer god like the rest of us.

Just a wild guess, but he's trying to have conservative government use this?

Because no self-respecting academia, money-hungry corporation, or nihilistic teenager is going to use Llama spewing out "both sides" garbage.

I don't think there's a financial reason for this. I think he's willing to lose money on his AI in the short time by doing this just so he can score some points with Trump since the EU is soon going to strike his company with even more fines for breaking EU law. He probably wants Trump to stop this from happening and this kind of stuff tickles the pickle of that dingus.

I wouldn't doubt if this is the reason why he's doing this.

Sorry if they said the reason in the article, but I'm not signing up just to read it.

I like to think that there are some "rogue" employees at xAI who are doing the good work of making Grok say the most based things.

Swapping one shit for another isn’t a solution.

Go use a fine-tuned model free from corpo and state filth.

At least it's open source and you can run it locally, and it's more energy efficient. Give credit where credit is due. A truly independent AI group could simply fork and review it. And contrary to fascist talking points not all Chinese Researchers bow to the CCP.

Are you suggesting that people on the left should abandon all these new powerful technologies to the right. We're in a capitalist society. You're suggesting "fuck it" and leave only right leaning consumers for these powerful new products.

What the hell. It's getting too be so hard to be on the left. Some of the most ineffective strategies on the planet. It looks like it's a doomed political group. There's no forethought.

This suggestion was just as bad as people saying don't use AI

We have to use it and we have to adopt it. Stop giving up powerful tools, technology and space to the right. I'm getting to be so done with the left if they just continue to shit the fucking bed.

The truth and a lie are not sort of the same thing.

And there is no aspect, no facet, no moment of life that can't be improved with pizza.

Just remove Asimov's First Law of Robots. Nothing bad will come from doing so.
