Isn't there a better word for this in the context than "strikes"? Some airfields elsewhere have been facing a bit different "strikes". Maybe I have been under the influence of different types of news.
You weren't the only one. "Strike" has at least two other meanings that came to mind first (terror attack, plane crash).
In the UK right now strikes are daily news. Noone in the UK would misunderstand that headline
They could have just said 'labor strikes'
