2021: Pfizer develops the world's first pill for COVID.

That surprised me. I don't want to diminish the work that has been done to develop this vaccine, still is it really a new invention? I thought it was done using already known technology

If you can call CRISPR a known technology them yes. Like calling a combustion engine a known technology to develop a new car.
