if a traffic light turns yellow or red when I drive through an intersection i kiss the palm of my hand, press it up against the roof of my car and say a brief prayer of protection to Hecate.

I often tell myself "you've got this" to try and kid myself that I have indeed got this. Dunno if that counts

I find this works best when you say it after "hold my beer"

“You’ve got this, T,” I mutter to myself, before entirely not gotting it at all.

Get myself a treat before or after a “big” event like a college final, trip, interview etc.

Probably alot of people do this. I try and think of the worst possible outcomes a situation might lead to. The reasoning is that it must become less likely then. What are the odds that this exact thing that I just thought about comes true?

When something appears to have possibly started going in the direction that I want it to, I make sure not to be talking about that potentiality with other people as that always seems to ensure that it will not come to pass.

I can't let other people know how i would count my chickens before they hatch or something like that.
