@[email protected] as someone living in the US, no, you're not. If nothing else, you may be understating the risks people are facing.

Everything about privacy (the confidentiality pillar of security) -- but not restricted to infosec. Offline privacy is also relevant here.
@[email protected] I honestly don't know why people still haven't got the hang of this: you put your data somewhere, it's going to get harvested; once it's harvested, it's going to get either sold, handed to a government, or hacked. The end.
Another excellent reason not to fly.
@fkamiah17 I’m just flabbergasted how little people are aware of what’s going on. Last night at karaoke I spoke to a guy who’s off to Florida today. Asked him “are you worried?” His response: “about what?” He had zero knowledge of what’s going on. Turns out he’s criticised Trump lots on his socials. Told him to take a burner phone but I think he’s just going to delete the posts and cross his fingers. (I’ve no idea if Facebook, etc., give the regime access to posts flagged in their systems as deleted or not but I wouldn’t put it past them.)
@[email protected] @[email protected] Truly amazing (and a little worrying) that such sweet summer children still exist. He probably trusts that drivers will stop when he goes to cross the road, too, right? 😬
@[email protected] Jesus christ. Spending time daily with well-informed people makes the level of ignorance in the general population pretty astonishing when you encounter it first hand. I get it all the time with my neighbours.
If in doubt (about FaceAche etc) assume they are, and act accordingly. A burner phone is the very least you should be doing if you're travelling to the States these days.
@[email protected] @[email protected] if it does give them that access, he’s already boned because they won’t need his phone to make that connection.
@[email protected] Yet another reason to #FlyLess or not at all (and avoid other decadent services that harm the environment and feed an endless stream of data about you into the capitalist machine).
@[email protected] how much is this going to cost taxpayers and has Congress appropriated the funds to buy this private data?
@[email protected] I'm sure the @[email protected] will voice it's concern sternly within the next decade or two.
