From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Everything seems fine, but I have no network access πŸ˜… happened after I restarted for a System update. Can't figure out what is wrong - help please 😊 Wired connection.

Enabled Wifi, but same problem; connect but cannot reach gateway. (other computers and pads are connected, and they work fine).

They updated the headers for linux-lts and that fixed it. This is a common frustration with newer wifi components. Switch to lts and update

How does one update when network doesn't work? (would be nice to know)

SELinux enabled? Type sestatus in a terminal.

Solved! Latest Mullvad VPN update caused it. Removed Mullvad VPN (was not loaded and not enabled), and everything is back to normal.

Thanks for suggestions though :)

I always have connection issues after a Mullvad update. One of the downsides really

so you just uninstall and reinstall?

I usually end up fiddling with service bouncing or a reboot to get it to work.

@oyzmo I would start by going into Network Manager, delete all the interfaces, and rebuild from scratch, then reboot and try again.

I'm aghast: How can this be a solution?!? We slam Microsoft but at least their networking doesn't go toes-up.

@corsicanguppy It's an issue I've encountered more than once and this has always resolved it. If you want to load Spywar back onto your machine, be my guest.
