John Mearsheimer has asserted they are trying to start a "global conflagration" to cover for their genocide.
Possibly, but I don't think so.
Their next target for imperialist genocide, once they complete their final solution for Gaza and the West Bank, is going to be Lebanon. And they're likely going to want to still be able to periodically antagonize Iran to distract from the evil they're going to be doing there.
Any empire that grow too big eccelerate it's downfall
