Researchers found that depression and anxiety can be passed from one spouse to the other via the oral microbiome, which is transferred during close contact, such as kissing.

Wait.....so little 1st graders have a point, when they're worried about the girls in their class giving them cooties???

Every day I understand this world less and less. We now live in a world where a convicted but not jailed felon was able to not only run for, but also win the election. And now I can't even kiss a woman without catching her sad feelings.

Is bacon still delicious? Genuinely asking, because apperently everything I know is wrong...

Some limitations of the study include the use of self-reporting to measure insomnia, depression, and anxiety; the measurement of only morning salivary cortisol levels; and the researchers' failure to control for shared lifestyle factors such as diet. Additionally, due to financial restraints, bacterial samples were only collected from the tonsils and pharynx, rather than the full oral microbiome.

Nonetheless, the study raises some interesting questions for future research.

β€œSince this study is associational, further research is needed to establish whether this association is causal,” the researchers said. β€œIf it is determined that this association is indeed causal, it could have significant implications for contemporary research.”

That's funny, because my wife spitting on me usually makes me quite excited.

Bullshit!
I'm a kiss-less virgin but I'm depressed as fuck.
Are you telling me I'm getting smooched without me knowing it? That's even worse. FUCK!
