What game is it?
outer wilds
Ahhh I’ve been meaning to try that game, you’ve just reminded me thank for telling me the game and reminding me lol
I wish I could play it for the first time again its very well made. I 100%'d it just because its so satisfying to play! Have fun and don't look up spoilers or guides until you really get stuck!
Is the open world mechanics massive on it?, I mean in terms of hidden details and basically lots to explore?
Yes in the sense that basically everything you do is trying to uncover clues to figure out what's going on. No in terms of the scale of the map. It's very dense and compact, rather than just being huge. There's lots to find, but you can cross the entire map in just a few minutes once you get the hang of piloting the ship. Just about every area has some kind of hidden spot though
although you're flying between planets they are reasonably-sized its not at all overwhelming. I'd dedicate a few runs to exploring each world then once you think you've figured it out move on to the next one. Each session is around 10-12 minutes (I forget) and some areas are open early and close later or are closed off early then open up later so keep that in mind. Other than that basically the entire game is open to you right off the bat, its all about exploring. And the payoff is incredible! each planet is just so interesting! honestly its just a really well put-together game.
I think I’ll wait to get my switch 2 and then try it out then
There's also dlc for it that is equally amazing, if you find yourself enjoying the game. It's one of my favorite games as well.
it's a lighting in a bottle kind of experience, enjoy! there's a high chance that game will lodge itself inside your brain forever, refusing to be forgotten (even though you'd really like to play it for the first time again)
i played this game soon after joining lemmy and reading a meme that was basically "Don't look anything up just play it" and yes what a beautiful perfect game
"Personally, I like new experiences, and I’ve never been in a painting before. I mean, I don’t think I’ve been in a painting before this one."
i so want to comment with a title of the game but dang, i cannot, there might be uninitiated among us, i must not spread spoilers
I don't think sharing the title is really a spoilers issue. After all, it's the first thing any new player sees! OP has already shared it anyway
For those wondering, it's Outer Wilds. Not to be confused with the Outer Worlds, which released at about the same time. Seriously though if you like puzzle games and piecing stories together, do not spoil it for yourself. The entire game is figuring out what happened; once you know, you can't learn it again
oh i thought you were referencing another game by swapping "time loop" with "painting" :)
for that game it would've been a rather big spoiler
Ahhh okay, I have a suspicion of which one you mean so I won't say anything more about it. No, the thing I posted is a quote from character that OP painted (other than I replaced "time loop" with "painting", of course)
oh i thought it was a screenshot :0
Wait shit you're right. I will blame the fact that I got some vaccinations yesterday and was feeling super ill

Deja Vu, I just been this place before!!
