This has been coming since y'all never got over losing the civil war and have been actively trying to overturn that loss this whole time. You are fighting for a past that no one but the extremely wealthy want, free of consequences for them and their shitty behaviour to appease shareholders and bankers. They are using the church to whitewash their shitty policies and social hierarchies and dressing it up as "the right thing to do" instead of suppressing the will of the people.
