From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

xrdp worked fine for me. Note that it's a no-nonsense tool: give it the adress and it displays the window with the remote, done.
Remmina is one of the best at the moment IMO, but both Gnome and KDE have very capable clients as well.
seconding remmina, I use it often for RDP activities.
FreeRDP is actively developed: https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP
I use it every day to connect to a Win11 desktop. I don't pass-through audio/mic so I can't confirm if that's working or not.
+1 for FreeRDP, I use it all the time!
KRDC?
I am using remmina daily for work, it is working well for me.
You need to change a setting in windows for remmina to work. I don't remember which one it was but I think it was some where in the remotedesktop settings.
Have you tried gnome connections? It's more on the "quick and easy" rather than "professional" side, but maybe it does the job.
Tho I wonder whether it's more of a windows-side issue... maybe windows 11 requires some kind of online authentication that cannot be implemented by other clients, and maybe this authentication can be turned off. I'm merely speculating here, but I know that remmina works for windows 10 so it's suspicious.
