Beeper is a 10$/month service that seems to use matrix+bridges to connect to a lot of services (www.beeper.com)

The fee saves a person from having to set up a hs and bridges themself it seems. But a telegram and discord bridge are very easy to set up already (https://www.t2host.io/discord/), so people will probably use it for the other bridges.

I don't think getting 10$/month is enough to have to talk to normies.

Maybe if they pay 100$/month I could think about it, but until then I will continue tolerating them on Rambox

from what I understand an imessage bridge requires a mac running 24/7 so that alone is probably worth a good chunk of that $10/mo

I got off the waitlist just a few weeks ago and it's really sick. Highly recommend! :) And right now it is free but they will add a paid plan. Integrations with: Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Discord, WhatsApp all working quite well.
