Looking to see if anyone has built their rig by purchasing aluminum extrusions from a supplier instead of going direct to Simlab, ASR, etc, and if so, have you run in to any problems?

I've already built my rig sometime ago, a SimLab GT1 EVO, however I am trying to see if others have accomplished this before and if so, what obstacles have you run in to. Trying to make this hobby more affordable for a few locals and wondering If we would simply run in to more issues than the savings are worth or have people had a good experiene.

As an example regarding costs, without factoring in the brackets, M-bolts, etc, I had priced out a rig using the identical pieces found in my GT1 Evo, and the cost came out to be between $300-$400. Where as my GT1 Evo with shipping and customs came out to be around $900.

Any info is much appreciated
