We shall overthrow our Ferengi oppressors and take control of Mugatoland and its profits!

"You got your Starship Troopers on my Star Trek!"

"You got your Star Trek in my Starship Troopers!"

Two great tastes that taste great together.

A bit more than just your part haha, someone needs to get a graph of top posters on c/Risa to see how many more posts you have than the rest of us

[–] Stamets@startrek.website 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Shhhhh. I'm just doing my part like anyone else

[–] xusontha@ls.buckodr.ink 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

My man you got 128 /c/risa posts on your profile. I've been posting 1-3 Risa memes daily for a bit and I have 24 /c/risa posts

[–] Stamets@startrek.website 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Like I said broski, just doing my part. Maybe too much lol

[–] xusontha@ls.buckodr.ink 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

No such thing as too many memes my friend

[–] Stamets@startrek.website 3 points 2 years ago

I'll test that theory!

The only reason I know there's something other than /c/Risa is because of the memes about Daystrom Institute, have never seen anything from there in the all feed.

Yeah, Risa gets everywhere. Lol

[–] LucyLastic@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 years ago

I replied to a thread on Daystrom once ... then got warned for not taking Star Trek seriously enough, so I figured it wasn't for me.

More monkey unicorns, I say!

They might as well be /c/section31 at this point

[–] freamon@endlesstalk.org 12 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Haha, I spend so much time on Risa - where the rules are very lax - that I haven't seen it. But I believe it.

[–] xusontha@ls.buckodr.ink 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

RIP shittydaystrom, they got flushed down the toilet

[–] Semi-Hemi-Demigod@kbin.social 7 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Someone should make noncredibledaystrom. Then we could have Florks at Quark's.

Some of us represent /c/Risa in a more unique way than others:

It's a lurker Mugato! They just watch...

Fun random fact, I've been learning Finnish for about 10 months, and it greatly confused me to find out they have a dish called quark. Like, what kind of society goes around eating elementary particles? No wonder it's one of the most difficult languages to learn.

Are you Finnished yet?

[–] Transcendant@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

Hehehe. Very good. I don't think I'll ever be Finnished, it's incredibly difficult and daily I question whyyyyy (the reality is because it's very embarassing not being able to speak Finnish when I've been performing there a couple of times a year for over a decade, while nearly everyone I meet speaks excellent English, classic lazy Brit)

[–] zout@kbin.social 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The Dutch have the same dish with the same name. They spell it as "kwark" though.

[–] Transcendant@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Have you tried it before? It doesn't sound very appealing, though it might be one of those things that sounds nasty but tastes delicious.

[–] zout@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

It's basically eaten as an alternative to yoghurt, or in cakes, cheesecake can be made with kwark. I have eaten the cake, which is allright, but I don't like the texture /mouth feel when eaten like yoghurt.

[–] Rayston@kbin.social 7 points 2 years ago (2 children)

.....isnt all food made out of fundamental particles?

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@startrek.website 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Did the name of the food come before or after the discovery of quarks?

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

The particle was named after the food.

(But the Star Trek character, I have no idea.)

[–] casmael@lemm.ee 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Firefox says it has an expired certificate or smthn

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@startrek.website 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's been giving me random errors today, so maybe try again in a little bit.

I swap between this and my original account of the same name on .world whenever one or the other has issues.

[–] victron@programming.dev 3 points 2 years ago

I'm happy just subbing, but maybe I'll make it official
