Looks nice, something I would hapilly carry arround in my backpack for some really light work or email
The fact it is a power bank make it a natural companion for the phone itself
Same.
Currently it discharge way too fast :/
Do you have one? Like a daily driver or is not roght there yet?
Yep I have one.
I used it as a daily for 2 week when I got it autumn 2020.
I couldn't last a day using it. Basic experience was OK. My second biggest issues was lack of messengers app on (even emails). Most of my relatives are on signal and that wasn't working.
BUT it getting better as os'es are developed. There is a working signal app and mail, better battery. I'll probably retry the experience soon.
Thanks for sharing it. I've been folowing the releases of different OSs and people seems to be working very hard and continously, if that trend contonues I see some brilliant future for linux based phones.
Damn, that's a sick keyboard! I thought it was going to be like BlackBerry, but nah we don't do that here :)
That looks like it'd be horrible to type on though. Might be a better idea to spring for the PineTab or a System76 laptop if you want a Linux laptop for actual productivity, or get one of those "dumb terminal" display and keyboard combos that can hook up to a phone and take advantage of mobile Linux's convergence features. Or a bluetooth keyboard, which has the additional benefit of being usable for any computer, some of them even fold for portability.
All the things just mentioned are not even in the same ballpark as the use case for this. This will still fit in your pocket. As one device. Obviously a full size tablet/laptop or BT keyboard would be nicer to type on but...they don't fit in your pocket.
Pity the keys are staggered. An ergonomic layout would have been better, especially on a small keyboard.
Serious question: What ergonomic designs are there that can make a 5-inch keyboard comfortable to type on?
A random example of staggering keys in the right direction (vertical) and with a better angle: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/keyboardio/atreus
This already looks double the size of the pinephone from the video. This board is most likely going to have to be smaller like a netbook keyboard given the pinephone's size
