The new spiderman just opened and I like to check out the discussion on new releases.
There should be a way for community mods to have comments made on a local instance be added to a larger community so you don't end up with 50k small community's maybe you could have #community's like on mastodon any post made in certain community's could auto add a hashtag so you could have a community like r squaredcircle on reddit with 50k members but still have small community's with there own mods
/r/retrobattlestations, /r/retrocomputing, /r/BBS... I'd be happy to mod one, but don't see how to create - I'm new so... I'd love for a BBS (Bulletin Board Systems) and other retro-computing subs. w00t w00t!!!

Grimdank. I don't play it but I love the Warhammer universe.
@fl1ghtless @geomusicmaker +1 for Grimdark, Also a vibrant Ireland community would be great, that's very active on Reddit, I also enjoy the BoardGames and SoloGaming communities
Count me in for boardgames! Looks like there is a [email protected] but doesn't seem very active. I wonder if it would make sense to try using that or try to get a !boardgames created somewhere?

Cop-out answer, but I hope all of them will eventually succeed here. I strongly believe open source projects are the future.
Lemmy has an incredibly solid base to build from, and with the directions many other platforms are headed, it's likely to continue growing.
For me personally, I'd love to see more out-there communities form, like r/2panelgarfield. I love the experience of discovering an awesome community for something you never knew existed.
Archery is one of the main ones I'm missing. I'd create it myself if I could work out how 🤣
/r/DestinyTheGame and /r/FFXIV would be nice.
