I often find link posts I would like to share with my fediverse followers (Mastodon et al.). I was looking for a "share" icon or something similar.

I know I can just share the url of the webpage, but maybe an integrated share button would be useful to others too ? Or does it exist and I didn't find it ?

Thanks

There is a share button on the Lemmur client for Android, what app/client andOperating system are you using?

I'm using the web ui on lemmy.ml

It looks like an icon of a chain - that's the link to the post. Or take a look at this browser add-on its exactly what you need! https://lemmy.ml/post/152344

@onoffled I guess you mean sharing to a fediverse server who does not federate with lemmy.ml?

Hmm, not sure. I'm kinda new to this fediverse thing. How can I know if my misskey home server is federated with lemmy.ml ? If it is, how can I share ?

@onoffled @oneled You can try to paste the url of the post into your instance's searchbar and see if it finds it. If not, try to search for a community (in the form [email protected]) and subscribe to it. A few days after doing that I could find any lemmy.ml post

I just noticed you mentioned my misskey account. How did you know it was me ?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 years ago

@onoffled I thought it was you as you have similar name, similar profile pic and followed me from misskey around the time you commented on Lemmy

you must follow the Lemmy community of your choice from your fediverse account, it's all what you need to do. But we aware that as far as I know Misskey don't federate with Lemmy servers.

Hi ,thanks. I searched for [email protected] and subscribed to myself, so this means it is federated, right ? Do you know Is there a way to create a post from another instance, or is it limited to comments ?
