It was disallowed for offside not for a foul! 100% correct decision and anyone with two eyes will agree

It's unbelievable how this forum can just make up narratives and run with them lol

No I can't, it was really weird that the first replays first seemed to indicate it as a foul. I was as baffled as you

But on the later replays it is a no brainer, clear as day offside. The end decision was correct so what is there to cry about?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

The problem is uefa told us it was for a foul, then changed their mind to offside.

Even if he was offside it’s borderline at best. The keeper made zero effort to get the ball. He wasn’t being hindered at all.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

What movements? The keeper didn’t even try to go for it?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Spain deserved the win overall, but shows how far we’ve come that we’re disappointed to not take something from Spain away.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

So dramatic 😭😭

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Erm, this literally does the opposite?

Norway's best chance of going through was Spain losing tonight imo

Tbh they have to beat Spain and Scotland in both situations anyway

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

They want Spain and Haaland there.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

The referee checked for a foul and signalled for a foul.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (4 children)

Absolutely shocking refereeing performance. Indefensibly biased.

I now understand why people hate VAR. After the Celtic game last week and now this, I’m not sure if I will ever celebrate a goal again.

Spain invent something challenge: impossible.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Ah yes, when Chiellini earned a free-kick for doing a Rhyno-style gore on our full-back. Takes me back.

Waiting for the Scottish McTears, don't think we have forgotten about the previous match thread

Ugly football by Scotland as usual.

See you in the euros, boys. If you can stop crying, of course.

De la Funte playing Gavi into the ground man, 2 days ago he left a training session with discomfort and now plays another full 90

First of all, it's hilarious to see r/soccer once again getting their knickers in a twist over a perfectly correct refereeing decision. The Scotland player was offside and clearly interfering with Unai Simon. That's why the goal was disallowed not for a foul..

Anyways, Spain were clearly the better side and if Ferran scores his early sitter than it probably would have ended 4-0 or something. Scotland showed great fighting spirit and threw their bodies on the line but no one can deny that they were outplayed for most of the match

Spain has now won 25 home matches in a row in Euro qualifiers. More than any other side in history

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

That's why the goal was disallowed not for a foul

It initially got disallowed for a foul, why the fuck is the referee being called over to the monitor for an offside and being shown Hendry near the keeper. They are just trying to cover their arses for absolutely fucking it

Could be a technical/visual mistake by broadcasters. Regardless it was offside

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You'll no find a single cunt in Scotland that unironically says banter.

Hopefully this Spain team can do us a turn on Sunday then.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I'm salty as fuck.

No way we'd have lost 2 goals if that outrages joke of a decision wasn't made. Fuming.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Absolutely ridiculous decision to disallowed the goal from a fair cross into the goal which one, the offside was unfair because he let the ball go all the way and wasn't interfering the shot that came in. Second the goalkeeper looked like a noob by not standing guard against his goal but decided to go in the net with a gentle push which is enough to not let the goal stand. The refs need to think straight next time because they're very soft to Spain.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

yeah that does kind of make sense actually. I didn't know that

More Scottish salt here than in a Glaswegian chippy

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

he didn't signal for offside when he gave the freekick after going to the screen

Celebrate your ignorance

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

They aren't required to do any signals for offside, that's the linesman's job

He is standing on top of Simon and has his hand on his chest. There is absolutely no way Simon could have got around him to get the cross

No matter how the decision making process transpired it was the correct decision in the end

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I can accept that Hendry may have been offside, but then why did they make the referee go to the screen? Am I wrong? Don't the VAR officials usually make offside decisions themselves? At the very least, shouldn't the referee get the lines applied to the screen so he doesn't have to rely on his naked eye?

It seems like the referee did in fact disallow it for being a foul, and ten minutes later the VAR officials told the commentators he was offside because they realised that was a stupid decision. Just a shitshow all around.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Lmao why would I cry. It was just so funny after that headline yesterday.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Here for the Scottish tears.

In no world with VAR you can get away with obstructing the goalie's movement on the goal line, while offside.
