Those Saudi league goals should count as 0.5

40 goals in Saudi league gives you a throw-in in Europe.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

My nephew has 63 goals within the last 13 months. Where is his article? Lol

good for him but 40 goals in the la liga is very different from 40 goals in the saudi league tbh

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (9 children)

My mate has 47 goals in his Sunday league, why was there no post about that?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

IFFHS only counts goals at top senior level

All goals at top senior level are counted: top national leagues plus Paulista and Carioca (NL), national cups (NC), official international club tournaments (ICC), official games between national teams (NT).

Does your mate get paid to play football or he pays to play?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I don't think sunday league is a fifa recognized league, correct me if I am wrong

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

everyone fears Appalachian State's Thompson Usiyan's 45 Goals in one NCAA season (17 games) in 1980.

Who still cares about Ronaldo lmao

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Stats in a league where the government controls half the clubs 💀

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I'm not his biggest fan but he's obviously in good form at the moment.

What are you even trying to say lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Pretty embarrassing that he's only one ahead of Erling Haaland, despite playing in an objectively much worse league.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Hes also 38 so yeah, thats amazing

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I'ts really not embarrassing at all considering his age. Must be incredibly embarrassing for players like Benzema, Neymar and Mane who are playing in the same league and getting outscored by Ronaldo. Messi is also playing in a much worse league.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I think anyone with any level of football knowledge would rather their team have Neymar than Ronaldo though.

Literally playing in front of crowds smaller than National League games

There must be a formula that applies appropriate weights to the quality of the league and his age to make this very impressive.

It’s much, much easier to vicariously live through a skinny 5’7 man with 0 personality than a confident 6’2 lad who looks like a model, no wonder this sub doesn’t like him.

The reactions would be very much different if this was Messi in MLS

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

r/soccer when Messi goes to a country which kills its own citizens: 😍

r/soccer when Ronaldo goes to a country which kills its own citizens: 🤬

His lickspittle fans desperately trying to pretend that saying 'He's scoring most of his goals in a second rate league' is 'hate' and not an objectively true statement are delightfully delusional.

It is impressive to still be so prolific at his age, but anyone ignoring the context to fawn over him is embarrassing themselves.

Amazing stat considering he's playing in the great Saudi League and International matches vs Liechestein and Luxembourg

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I like how everyone in this sub waited for his worst low of his career to shit on this guy and forgot the years he did this in europe.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Impressive. Saudi and Luxemburg isn’t for everyone

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Not the highest quality league but doing better there than anyone else

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Nah, pretty sure there’s a dude in the English 7th tier that bagged 50+ this year.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

This is pretty damn impressive. The man's longevity is insane.

Before all of you stop barking about this being in the Saudi league, even Benzema and Neymar aren't putting up these numbers, Benzema is the current Ballon d'Or holder and Neymar was the best PSG player (arguably) before his injury.

good for him. now take into account the league he's playing in, the team he's playing for, and the type of goals he's scoring. still impressive, but equating his goals to the likes of mbappe and Halland is ridiculous

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

This reddit always crying about Ronaldo damn

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

He’s playing in a retirement league 😂

Lol These are mostly exhibition matches for both CR and Messi. Low intensity, low stakes. Only their fans will take such leagues seriously
