Woohoo! I'm glad we have a Lemmy community for Coquitlam. Coquitlam Centre area here.

Welcome! I started this place after literally just living here a week. We're brand new to the area and trying to learn quickly.

Welcome to you too, then! I've only been here since 2018, so I'm far from an old-timer. It's my favourite suburb though!

Thanks - lots I'm trying to figure out right now, like what I need to do to get downtown Van for work. Skytrain (Lafarge) to Coquitlam station, to West Coast Express to Waterfront, to Skytrain to Burrard station, then walk from there it looks like.

From what I can tell on the transit website, that's my easiest path. Not sure they could make it more confusing if they tried.

That’s the way I would go. Definitely WCE if you can.

BTW, Google Maps transit directions are way easier than trying to figure it out via TransLink’s website. If you’re on a desktop computer, you can use its “leave at” or “arrive by” filter to plan future trips.

The iOS app Transit is better at “where is my bus right now”, but it wants money for some things now.
