Adaptation is what you do when you've already failed to avoid causing the issue.

According to Carbon Brief, as of 2017 the region was already experiencing 1.8 C warming (https://www.carbonbrief.org/mapped-how-every-part-of-the-world-has-warmed-and-could-continue-to-warm/). From the climate atlas page linked in the article, it would appear things have worsened since (projected around 2.2 C).

We're lucky that a bit of warming helps some aspects in this region (ie. longer growing season), but there's a lot that we'll need to do to adapt to changes in the water cycle that comes from less snowmelt, increased freezing rain, changes in heatwave times/durations, etc.

From what I've read in the report, it's very light on the details of how the city will adapt to these changes. There are a lot of forming "working groups" to come up with ideas, but not a lot of real action.

Still, a step in the right direction is a step. So I'll take it, but we do need to get a bit of a move on here.

100%. We don't do anything now, it's going to cost us way more money later.
