Many women's concerns now extend beyond abortion access to health and reproductive care.

The only moral abortion is my abortion.

The only moral abortion is my abortion No matter how many times I read it, I continue to be gobsmacked by how narrow minded and hypocritical some people will be.

Amazing read, thank you for posting. A very important article rewarding the hypocrisy and intellectual laziness of so many in the US.

Remember all of those dumbasses who wouldn't vote for Hillary, even with SCOTUS clearly at stake?

"We told you so."

If you give people power, they will abuse it, and use it to abuse you.

Sadly most of the rightwing platform takes the form of a revenge-fantasy at this point.

A Yougov poll, sponsored by CBS. I believe they reward for participating in polls on their phone app. I imagine that might skew the sample somewhat.

Edit: it seems my gut reaction about this method skewing the results was wrong, YouGov corrects for biases and has a good track record. Thanks to @Bloonface for opting to correct rather than insult me.

A "Gamer" with an anime avatar, with 6 reputation points. These types don't have the best reputation on the internet. Take their comments with a grain of salt as they might be skewed towards a certain ideology somewhat.

That said, the "we didn't know it would be restricted this much" part strikes me the most.

It's one thing to not read through everything to form informed decisions but why not listen to all those who did read and were shouting from the rooftops that this was exactly what would happen? Why not believe the evangelicals and the state legislators they gerrymandered into office when they say this is their exact intention?

The hubris is palpable.

You're inaccurately presuming a lot about me based on my user name. Something something books and covers.

Oh, you don't say! Really?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

not defending him but rep points are meaningless rn because it only counts boosts, not upvotes. I have plenty of upvotes but still only 12 points because I havent gotten many boosts.

I know. I was being sarcastic and mocking his style by stating irrelevant metrics to judge trustworthiness.

You really think most women are okay with giving up their human rights? Really?

I find it interesting that you think criticizing a poll means that. I suspect that this approach is likely to attract less informed people, who are less likely to be aware of the terrible cost in human suffering overturning roe is causing.

YouGov is a top-tier reputable polling company that weights its samples to avoid any such confounding factors.

Your comment prompted me to look into it a bit more and it appears my initial reaction was wrong, they do seem to use best practices and have a good track record. I stand corrected. Here's some more about YouGov's methodology if anyone else is interested.

A Yougov poll

Yougov was founded by british conservatives.

That kind of oversells what bias they might have.

They're well known as a reputable and honest polling organisation, regardless of their origins.

Yes, agreed, i was pointing out that the implication of YouGov posting left-biased results is laughable lol

Hm? I was implying no such thing. It does seem I was wrong about YouGov's methodology skewing the poll, however.

Then shouldn't it be called youguvnah?

If I was living in a red state, and was about child bearing age... i'd be terrified that my obgyn would be leaving sometime during my pregnancy...

I'm really curious about the rate of Doctors leaving these states because of the potential jail time.

I'd love to hear the reasoning of the 17% who said this it advanced women's rights.
