I would prefer it to be open source, but at this point that's not a necessity. I need an app that can open word documents, powerpoint presentations and excel spreadsheets (maybe PDFs as well but I could always get a separate app). So far I've tried Openoffice & Libreoffice Document reader from F-droid which worked fine for documents but simply would not load pptx or xlsx files. I've now installed WPS Office from the Play Store but all the conversion options are clogging up the share with.. options every time I want to send a picture. I would appreciate any recommendations at this point.

Try OnlyOffice. Not on Fdroid though.

The Android app is not FLOSS.

Yes it seems they quietly released the source some time ago. Only the iOS app is still closed.

Same as poVoq plus I didn't know that was released in the end.

A year ago there was no repository for it and was mentioned as propietary when I asked for those to one of the employees/developers.

Just turn off internet access and disable permissions such as location and microphone if they're there, you should get decent privacy. I use WPS and it works quite well.

Docs To Go should also work

On the one hand I understand that my post with SSuite was deleted, since it is not OpenSource, but on the other hand I put it because the user did not insist that it be in his request, it has a good privacy and good quality, and because there is no other decent office suite for Android that is OpenSource, at least not one that I know of. The only one I found is Collaborate Office, which is OpenSource, but for collaboration for companies and is not free, only the Demo.

WPS, which you have already installed, is unfortunately going to be your best option, with internet turned off. Collabora (LibreOffice mobile fork) has BAD decoding and compatibility issues with the MS Office formats, which are a staple of how documents are shared around.

I just use an older WPS version 12.7 with no internet, and my share menu is not clogged either. Librera Pro is not an option since it only views DOCX, not edits or even fulfills your use case for PPTX and XLSX.
