Tremendous turn around for the lad. He's really rebuilt himself mentally and has earned this new deal.
One of the worst keepers I’ve seen at Ewood Park and thought he kept falling upwards but credit to him for turning it around.
He was absolutely dreadful against us when we won 6-1. Not just because he conceded six but his distribution and command of his box was terrible.
Why did they even sign Verbruggen lol
We needed a backup goalkeeper and a long term option. With Verbruggen we have both.
Competition, Steele isn't the youngest either.
I remember seeing him struggle in that Sunderland Till I Die documentary getting relegated to league 1. Makes you wonder how many other players out there have the potential to be at a much higher level but the system they're in is limiting it
If you'd have told me in 2019 that the bloke who I just watched get benched and then relegated in Sunderland Till I die would be our starting keeper in our European debut season; I would have probably doubted your faculties
