I am on lemmy.world and subscribed to this community, but I can't see any posts there

Maybe your language settings aren't right. In your account settings you can choose multiple languages. Make sure that German is one of them! After you've done that go to Gittertiere and press F5!

Ohh, thank you! Still can't see posts but maybe only new ones from here on out will show up

Yeah, I once read that one can only see the posts that are posted after the subscription. But as I can see older posts in my subscribed communities from different instances (even posts that are older than my account) I thought maybe that has changed somehow.

I think you're right, realized my changes didn't save before, but now it works, thank you! Gittertiere as far as the eye can see
