Compact camera for travel (self.travelphotography)

I will be traveling to Africa in a month or so. I have a large DLSR camera but it is a little bulky to bring on a trip (it was given to me so I have used it a lot around home but not on a large trip).

I have owned a couple of compact cameras in the past and have liked the size and portability. But unfortunately both of them have broke over the years.

I was wondering if anyone had suggestion of a decent compact camera under $200 or so? I good optical zoom would be nice. Bluetooth or wifi photo upload would be great too but not completely necessary.

Any suggestions?

To be honest at that price point you'll probably have a hard time beating a smart phone unless that one is old and has a really crappy camera.
